When the San Francisco 49er's and the Baltimore Ravens tear up the turf in Sunday's Super Bowl XLVII, both teams will be competing for the crowning glory of their respective seasons--the Lombardi Trophy. For many players, it will mark the pinnacle of their careers as well. Super Bowl appearances are few and far between when you consider that each season only two teams out of a league-wide 32 reach the final contest. These two teams will have had only 16 regular season games and two to three playoff matches to prove that they're the best teams in professional football. Fortunately, in most other businesses we have more time and ways to achieve success. Still I think we can learn a few things from the NFL players.
Several weeks ago, while I was listening to WEEI, a
scholarly gentleman called in and spoke passionately about some great NFL players and their work ethic--the key to their success. The caller's comments made me pause and think about my own approach to work and consider if I shared any traits with these NFL stars.
As we head further into 2013 consider these practices that many of the best NFL players employ to achieve greatness.
On Sunday, we'll see talented individuals enjoying the rewards of their dedication and commitment to hardwork. As you do, ask yourself this--Are You Ready for Your Super Bowl?
